The first story, 'The inheritance' tells the story of a motherless bride whose father wants to give her everything he possesses when she gets married. But his brother and his sons do not allow her to take them away as they feel that they are entitled to it, in the absence of a male child. She refuses to go with her husband, but gets her father to marry again and beget two sons. And after a couple of years when her husband comes to claim her, she proudly takes away everything from her father's house jeering at her uncle and cousins that she now has brothers who can look after their inheritance. Other stories talk of bravery, of customs, emotions, revenge and the like.
